The Noua Casă program — a 30% notary fee reduction

The Noua Casă program doesn't just lower the mortgage interest rate — it also brings a direct reduction on the transaction's notary costs.

What the law says

If the property purchase is made through this program, the standard notary fee is reduced by 30% from the normal table — check eligibility and explicitly tell the notary the transaction is through Noua Casă, before going to the first available notary.

The notary fee table, Noua Casă section.

How it applies, in numbers

Illustrative example: for a transaction worth 200,000 lei, the notary fee calculated under the standard table is a certain amount — through Noua Casă, that amount is reduced by 30%. The transfer tax and land registration fee stay unchanged, only the notary fee benefits from the reduction.

Common mistakes

The common mistake is assuming all transaction costs (not just the notary fee) are reduced by the program, or not explicitly checking with the notary whether the reduction was correctly applied to the final invoice.
